JACK’S ASHES

“163 to win! We’ve got this…”

The chase is on! Can Jack lead his team to victory?

Former professional cricketer Jack gives his team talk, but as wickets fall like a ticking time bomb so the anecdotes from the ashes of his career prove less than inspirational…

As Jack pads up to be the last man in to go out and save the day, Jack’s Ashes offers a humorous insight into the mental frailties that can cloud the mind and the distractions that can lead to ruin.

“The perfect balance of humour and heart”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ South Western Times

Jack’s Ashes was written by Matt Banes and Tim Marriott – who also stars. Banes is a former professional cricketer, while Marriott is an award-winning writer, producer and performer. Marriott is best known for starring in the BBC sitcom The Brittas Empire, and appeared to great acclaim in Appraisal, which he also wrote, here at the Tabard in April 2024.

Jack’s Ashes also includes recorded contributions from the cricketing world such as Lancashire, England and Sky Sports legend David ‘Bumble’ Lloyd, Ed Cowan, Robert ‘Crash’ Craddock and Aussie all-rounder Shane Watson.

Playing a limited 12 performance London run at the Tabard, Jack’s Ashes is richly entertaining and engaging – and possibly the worst team talk you’ve ever heard!

‘sensitive, wryly humorous… a ‘tour de force’ of a performance’

Chiswick W4

Don’t be caught out, get on the front foot and score your tickets before they run out…

This Wednesday 16th October performance of Jack’s Ashes will be followed by an audience talkback with James Pyemont. James was a professional cricketer with Sussex and Derbyshire, and is now Head of Network Engagement at the ECB.
